A scatter plot shows two measurements for each trial. A line of best fit, drawn by eye or by least squares, summarizes a linear pattern. Its slope and intercept mean something in the data, residuals show how far each point sits from the line, and the correlation coefficient r says how strong and which way the relationship is. When the points bend, a quadratic or exponential model fits better. The week ends with Fair Day.
