To model an object, choose the shape closest to it and use that shape's measures: a cylinder for the column, a box for the stair unit, a regular hexagon for a honeycomb tile. Density by area or volume is an amount divided by the space it fills: sheets per square meter, cups per cubic decimeter, seats per square meter. A design problem has constraints, and geometry finds the option that uses the least material or fits the most. This week the crew models the whole set, plans the honeycomb panel and the seats, and opens the show.
