Tenths and hundredths can be written as fractions or as decimals: 3/10 = 0.3 and 62/100 = 0.62. Three tenths is the same as thirty hundredths, so 3/10 + 4/100 = 34/100. To compare decimals of the same whole, compare the tenths first, then the hundredths.
