Wednesday: Shapes and their sides

Rosie the Rabbit cuts shapes from paper.

"Is a big triangle still a triangle?" asks Rosie.

Lizzy counts the sides. "Yes! It still has 3."

Learn it: sides and corners

A triangle has 3 straight sides and 3 corners.

A square has 4 equal sides and 4 square corners.

A rectangle has 4 sides and 4 square corners.

A circle is round. It has no corners.

Color does not change a shape.

Size does not change a shape.

Turning it does not change a shape.

The sides and corners tell us the name.
