Tuesday: Both ways

Oliver writes 5 = 3 + 2 on a rock.

Bennie tilts his head. "Is that backward?"

"No," says Oliver. "Both sides are the same."

Learn it: the answer can go first

The equal sign can face either way.

5 = 3 + 2 is true.

3 + 2 = 5 is true too.

Both sides show the same amount.
