Wednesday: Tadpole to frog

Raven kneels by the creek.

"Tiny swimmers!" she whispers.

Rocket looks. "Those are not frogs!"

Nova says, "Not yet. Watch them grow."

Frogs start in water

A frog lays its eggs in water.

A tadpole hatches from each egg.

A tadpole has a tail.

It has no legs yet.

It swims and lives in the water.

It does not look like its parents at all!

A tadpole changes

Slowly, the tadpole grows back legs.

Then front legs grow.

Its tail gets shorter and shorter.

Now it is a frog.

It can hop on land.

Now it looks like its parents.
