Air is made of molecules that have weight. The weight of all the air above a place is its air pressure, measured with a barometer in millibars or inches of mercury. Pressure is lower higher up, and it changes from day to day. A falling barometer often comes before clouds, wind and rain; a rising barometer often comes before fair weather.
