Monday: Prefixes un and re

Ferris the Fox climbs to a high branch of the Word Tree.

Rosie the Rabbit is there with a small box.

"Last week, word parts went at the end," says Rosie.

"This week, they go at the front. Watch me unlock this box!"

See it: un and re

A prefix is a word part at the front of a word.

The prefix un means not, or the opposite.

Unhappy means not happy. Unlock is the opposite of lock.

The prefix re means again.

Reread means read again. Refill means fill again.
