Saturday: Sound Hunt

Bruce the Bobcat waits at the end of the bridge.

His badge shines in the sun.

"Sound Hunt day!" says Bruce. "Here is my last challenge."

"Find things at home with a soft c or a soft g."

"Do your best. You can do it. Ready, go!"

  1. Soft c says the first sound in sun: city, ice.
  2. Soft g says the first sound in jam: gem, cage.
  3. After a short vowel, use dge: badge, bridge.
  4. Look at the letter after c or g: e, i or y.

Walk around your home with your grown-up.
Find three things with a soft c or a soft g.
A pencil, a page, the fridge or some ice all work!
Say each word. Then look at the letter after c or g.
