Saturday: Sound Hunt

Hazel the Hedgehog sits on the top stair.

She tucks her pencil behind her ear.

"Sound Hunt day!" says Hazel.

"Find things at home with air, ear or ore."

"Take your time. There is no rush. Ready, go!"

  1. Air and are say the sound in chair: hair, care.
  2. Ear and eer say the sound in ear: hear, deer.
  3. Ore and oar say the sound in corn: more, roar.
  4. Same sound, different spellings.

Walk around your home with your grown-up.
Find a chair, the stairs or a door.
Say each word. Does it end like chair, ear or more?
Spell one together on paper.
