Tuesday: Tell time to 5 minutes

Hazel looks at her clock after lunch.

"The short hand is just past 2," she says.

"The long hand points to 4."

Bennie counts by fives. "5, 10, 15, 20."

"So it is 2:20," says Hazel. "Time for a little walk!"

Learn it: hour first, then minutes

Look at the short hand first. It shows the hour.

If it is between two numbers, use the smaller one.

Then count by 5s to the long hand.

This clock shows 2:20.
