Monday: The hour hand and the minute hand

Hazel the Hedgehog has a round clock in her cozy burrow.

"This clock has two hands," she says gently.

"The short hand tells the hour."

Bennie the Bear points to the long hand.

"And this hand tells the minutes," he says.

"Let us count the minutes by fives."

Learn it: two hands

The short hand is the hour hand.

The long hand is the minute hand.

This clock shows 3:00. The long hand points straight up to 12.
