Thursday: A garden story

Chris the Coyote rests under a tree near Lucy's garden.

"Let me tell you how Lucy's garden grew," he says.

"There were rows of flowers, pairs of bees, and one shy snail."

Lucy giggles and Bennie gets ready to count along.

Story: Lucy's garden

Lucy planted 4 rows of flowers, with 5 flowers in each row.

Bees came to visit in pairs. There were 8 bees.

Then one shy snail came along, all by itself.

Lucy said, "Welcome, snail! You are part of our garden too."
