Monday: Measure with cubes

Lizzy the Lizard has a notebook and some cubes.

"How long is this stick?" asks Lizzy.

Bennie the Bear lines up cubes beside it.

Learn it: line up the cubes

Start the cubes at one end of the stick.

Put each cube right next to the last one.

Leave no gaps. Do not stack the cubes.

Stop at the other end. Then count.

Longer and shorter

Lizzy measures a leaf. It is 5 cubes long.

A feather is 8 cubes long.

8 is more than 5, so the feather is longer.
