Wednesday: Tens and ones together

Samantha has 3 full bags of acorns.

She has 4 loose acorns too.

"How many in all?" asks Samantha.

Bennie counts the tens first.

Learn it: tens first, then ones

Bennie counts the bags: 10, 20, 30.

Then he counts on the ones: 31, 32, 33, 34.

So 3 tens and 4 ones make 34.
