Thursday: An acorn story

Chris the Coyote sits under the big oak tree.

"Listen," he says softly.

"Here is a story about a squirrel who counts."

Story: Samantha's acorn bags

One windy day, acorns fell all over the trail.

Samantha picked them up one by one.

Soon she had too many to count.

So she put ten in each bag.

She filled 5 bags and had 6 acorns left.

"Fifty, then fifty-six!" Samantha cheered.
