Family Helper Day: Toy tidy

Saturday sun warms the den.

Ferris holds up his Helper list.

"Today you help at home," he says.

Rosie cheers. "You can do it!"

  1. A helper notices a job and does it.
  2. Sort toys into groups that match.
  3. Every toy has a spot.
  4. A Helper list shows your jobs.
  5. Add a check mark when you finish.
◇ FAMILY TOY TIDY
Pick one room with your grown-up.
Look around. Notice the toys on the floor.
Sort them into groups: blocks, books, soft friends.
Carry each group to its spot.
Your grown-up reaches any high spot.
Add a check mark to your Helper list.
Say: I noticed a job and did it!
Safety first
Lift small, light things only.
Do not climb on chairs or shelves.
Leave anything hot or sharp alone.
For a grown-up
Ask: what did you notice first?
Ask: how did you decide the groups?
Let your child do the job, even if slow.
Point out one thing they did well.
