Friday: Explain the Faucet

Rocket draws a faucet with a see-through side.

"Handle, stem, washer, spout," he says, pointing.

Raven asks, "What do you notice happens first?"

Nova glows the stem. "Start with the twist."

How a faucet works

Turn the handle. The stem screws down.

The soft rubber washer presses down.

The water is blocked. No drip!

Turn the handle back. The stem rises.

Water flows out of the spout.
