Tuesday: Brush like a pro

Rocket brushes his teeth super fast. Zip, zip!

Raven asks, "Did you reach every tooth?"

Rocket grins. "Maybe not!"

Nova hints, "Try little circles."

When to brush

Brush your teeth two times each day.

Brushing before bed is extra important.

Use toothpaste with fluoride in it.

Fluoride helps protect teeth.

A grown-up puts on a pea-sized dab.

Spit the toothpaste out. Do not swallow it.

How to brush

Brush in little circles, around and around.

Cover every side of every tooth.

Brush up and down, not side to side.

You can brush your tongue too!

Young kids need a grown-up to help brush.

Practice on egg carton teeth

Safety first
Use an old, clean toothbrush.
Use water only, no toothpaste.
Washable marker dots stand in for food bits.
Wash your hands after.
  1. Turn an empty egg carton upside down.
  2. The bumps are pretend teeth.
  3. A grown-up draws marker dots on the bumps.
  4. Dip the brush in water.
  5. Brush in little circles to clean the dots.
  6. Check every side of every bump.
