Wednesday: Sound shakes paper

Raven holds a sheet of paper near a speaker.

Music plays. "It tickles my fingers!" she says.

Rocket asks, "Why?" Nova says, "Feel and think."

You need

  • A sheet of thin paper
  • A speaker or radio
  • A grown-up to control the volume
Safety first
A grown-up sets the volume.
Keep the music at a comfortable level.
Never put the speaker against your ear.

Steps

  1. Hold the paper by its edges with both hands.
  2. A grown-up plays music at a medium level.
  3. Hold the paper near the speaker, not touching it.
  4. Feel your fingertips. Watch the paper.
  5. A grown-up turns the music down low.
  6. Feel the paper again.
