Rocket puts on a helmet. It slides back and shows his whole forehead.
"My helmet is falling off the back!" he giggles.
Raven gently wiggles the helmet. "What do you notice? It rocks side to side."
Nova hovers at eye level. "Two checks to start," she says. "Is it snug? Is it in the right spot?"
Pick a helmet that fits your head now.
Do not pick one to grow into.
Put the helmet flat on top of your head.
It should fit snugly. It should not rock side to side.
Many helmets come with sizing pads. A grown-up can use them to adjust the fit.
The helmet should sit level on your head.
It should sit low on your forehead.
Use your fingers to check. Place one or two fingers flat above your eyebrows.
The front edge of the helmet should be right above your fingers.
Do not let the helmet tip back.
