Rocket spots a tall oak tree.

"Same leaf shape!" says Raven.

  6. Every living thing grows up.
◇ EXPLORER DAY PLANT HUNT
Walk the yard or park with your grown-up.
Find a big plant. A tree or a bush works.
Look near it for a tiny plant. Same kind?
Compare the leaves. Same shape?
Compare the size. Which is young?
Your grown-up writes what you found in your notebook.
Safety first
Look with your eyes only.
Do not pick or taste any plant.
Some plants can make skin itch.
Stay with your grown-up.
Wash your hands when you get home.
For a grown-up
Ask: how can you tell this one is young?
Ask: what is the same about the leaves?
Trees and their sprouts work well for this hunt.
Praise careful looking.
