Try It: Help or a Person?

On Saturday morning, Maya makes a list of ten things she did this week. Ben and Rosa do the same.

Next to each one, they write a single word: help, or person.

Help means a tool might draft or suggest it. Person means it needs a human from start to finish.

Privacy check before any Try It
Today you only need paper or a notes app. You do not need any AI tool.
Keep your list private. Do not write anyone's full name, address or account details.
Next week and after, every Try It starts with a checklist like this one.

Your task

  1. Write ten tasks from your week, at home, at school or at work.
  2. Next to each, write "help" if a tool could draft or suggest part of it.
  3. Write "person" if it needs your judgment, your care or private information from start to finish.
  4. For each "help" task, note one thing you would check in the draft.
  5. Circle the one task where a draft would save you the most time.
Example taskHelp or person?Why
Draft a reminder note about a school triphelpA plain draft, and you check the dates
Talk with a child about a hard daypersonIt needs care and knowing the child
Draft a product descriptionhelpA first draft, and you remove made-up claims
Decide which job applicant to hirepersonIt needs judgment and fairness checks

Which of your ten tasks did you circle?
WHY THIS EXERCISEYou will come back to this task in later weeks.

Next week: why AI tools sometimes state false things with confidence, and how to catch them.
