Explorer Quest: Guess, Suggest, Choose

The crew has a free afternoon on the station. Rocket wants a game.

"Let's play Guess, Suggest, Choose!" he says.

Raven makes three paper cards. "What do you notice about how each card is different?" she asks.

Nova floats between them. "Here is a hint," she says. "Listen to the words each person uses."

  1. AI is a computer system that people build.
  2. AI makes guesses (predictions), suggestions (recommendations) or choices (decisions).
  3. Some programs just follow exact steps. They are not AI.
  4. AI does not think or feel like a person. It can be wrong.
  5. Nova is a story character. Real AI is a tool.
◇ GUESS, SUGGEST, CHOOSE
Make three cards: Guess, Suggest and Choose.
Take turns saying a sentence about your home or day.
Example: "I think it will be sunny later." That is a guess.
Example: "You might like this book." That is a suggestion.
The other players hold up the card that fits.
Play until everyone has said five sentences.
For a grown-up
Ask: what is the difference between a guess and a choice?
Ask: who builds AI, and who decides how to use it?
This course never connects your child to a real AI tool, chatbot or app.
