Story Hunt

Story Hunt: text features
// Text features in fact texts
⏱ about 15 min

Saturday: Story Hunt

Samantha the Squirrel races up to the Story Stump.

"Story Hunt day!" she says. "Find a fact book at home or at the library."

"Hunt for every tool we learned this week!"

Ferris the Fox holds up his basket. "Count them as you go."

  1. A title names the whole text. Headings name the parts.
  2. Bold words are important. The glossary tells what they mean.
  3. Labels name parts of a picture. Captions tell about it.
  4. The contents page shows where each part starts.
