Monday

What happened, and why?
// Cause and effect with because and so
⏱ about 15 min

Monday: What happened, and why?

Oliver the Owl lands on the Story Stump.

He pushes up his little glasses.

"Good morning, readers," he says. "This week we ask two questions."

"What happened? And why did it happen?"

Ferris the Fox opens his basket of books. "Let us find out together!"

Learn it: cause and effect

An effect is what happened.

A cause is why it happened.

Ferris reads: "The kite fell because the wind stopped."

He asks: What happened? The kite fell. That is the effect.

Why did it happen? The wind stopped. That is the cause.
