Story Hunt

Story Hunt: steps in order
// How-to texts and steps in order
⏱ about 15 min

Saturday: Story Hunt

Bennie the Bear sits on a log with a big book.

"Story Hunt day!" he says.

"How-to texts are all around you."

"Look for game rules, a craft book or steps on a box."

Ferris waves his map. "Then find the order words!"

  1. A how-to text tells the steps to do something.
  2. Many how-to texts list the materials first.
  3. Order words show when: first, next, then, after that and last.
  4. The order of the steps matters.
  5. You can retell steps in your own words.
