  1. ff, ll, ss, zz: two letters, one sound.
  2. Puff, bell, moss and buzz.
  3. Count sounds, not letters.
  4. Bell has four letters and three sounds.

Walk around your home with your grown-up.
Find something that ends with lll, like bell.
Find something that ends with sss.
Say each word slowly. Count its sounds.

For a grown-up
Count sounds on fingers together: bell is three.
