Sound Hunt

Sound Hunt: word fronts
// Prefixes un-, re-, pre- and dis-, compound words and contractions
⏱ about 15 min

Saturday: Sound Hunt

Rosie the Rabbit hops down from the Word Tree.

Ferris opens the Sound Map. "One more branch to climb next week," he says.

"First, a Sound Hunt," says Rosie.

"Let's find prefixes, compound words and contractions at home!"

  1. A prefix is a word part at the front of a word.
  2. Un and dis can mean not. Re means again. Pre means before.
  3. A compound word is two small words joined: sun and flower.
  4. A contraction squeezes two words into one: can not, can't.
