Saturday: Sound Hunt

Riley the Raccoon waves the lantern at the mouth of the cave.

"Sound Hunt day!" says Riley.

"Hunt at home for words with quiet letters and ph."

Ferris rolls up the Sound Map. "Ready, set, go!"

  1. Kn at the start: the k is silent, like knee.
  2. Wr at the start: the w is silent, like write.
  3. Gn and mb at the end: sign and lamb.
  4. Ph says the first sound in fox, like phone.

Walk around your home with your grown-up.
Find three things with kn, wr, gn, mb or ph.
Your knee, your thumb or a phone all work!
Say each word. Name the quiet letter if you can.
