Saturday: Sound Hunt

Lucy the Ladybug lands on a garden fence.

"Sound Hunt day!" says Lucy.

"Find things at home with oo, like a spoon or a book."

"Look for a tie, a glue stick or your own toes!"

"Ready, set, go!"

  1. oo can sound like moon: spoon, food, pool.
  2. oo can sound like book: look, foot, wood.
  3. ew and ue can sound like moon: chew, glue.
  4. ie says the long i in pie.
  5. oe says the long o in toe.

Walk around your home with your grown-up.
Find a spoon, a broom, a book or a boot.
Say each word. Does it sound like moon or book?
Wiggle your toes. Say toe!
