Monday: Take away

Donnie the Deer finds 5 acorns.

Bennie the Bear rolls 2 away.

"How many are left?" Donnie asks softly.

Learn it: take away

Take away means some go away.

Then we count what is left.

Here are 5 counters.

A ten-frame with five counters

Now 2 gold counters roll away.

Three red counters and two gold counters

Bennie counts the red ones. 1, 2, 3!
