Hunt and compare

Walk around your home or yard.

Find pairs of things.

Ask which is longer, taller or heavier.

Try it: Number Hunt
Find a long stick and a short one.
Find a tall thing and a short thing.
Lift two shoes. Which is heavier?
Make a group of 4 and 7 rocks.
Which group is greater?

Each of you takes a handful of spoons.
Count your spoons.
Who has more? Who has fewer?
Play three times.
Draw two things you compared.
For a grown-up
This week your child compared numbers.
They also compared length, height and weight.
Ask, "Which is greater, 5 or 8?"
Ask which of two things is heavier.
