"Let us sort and count!" she says.

Hunt, sort and count

Find a pile of things at home.

Sort them into groups.

Count each group out loud.

Count each color.
Sort spoons and cups.

Find two groups that are the same.

Your grown-up puts out a mix of things.
You sort them into groups.
Count each group together.
Say which has more and which has fewer.
Draw two groups. Circle the group with more.

Your child compared groups this week.
Matching one to one shows more or fewer.
Ask, "Which group has more?"
Laundry and toys are great for sorting.
