Number Hunt
// Missing factors, fact families and tens
⏱ about 15 min

Saturday: Number Hunt

Bruce and Bennie set off with a notebook and a pencil.

"Let us hunt for equal groups," says Bruce.

"Then we can write times and division facts."

Bennie points at a window with 3 rows of 4 panes.

"3 × 4 = 12, and 12 ÷ 3 = 4," he says.

Bruce grins. "I think I can find a group of tens!"

Hunt for equal groups

Look around your home or yard with a grown-up.

Find things in equal rows or equal groups.

Write a times fact and a division fact for each one.

Try it: Number Hunt

Take turns picking numbers five times.
Draw an equal-groups thing you found. Write its facts.
For a grown-up
This week your child learned that division asks for a missing factor.
They wrote fact families and multiplied by tens, like 4 × 30.
Ask: what times fact helps with 42 ÷ 7?
Facts within 100 grow with daily, calm practice.

Great hunting! Next week Oliver helps with two-step problems.
