Today is the last day of the Number Trail.

Ferris the Fox and his friends meet at the trail end.

"Let us hunt for shapes one more time," says Ferris.

Rosie the Rabbit cheers. "Then we will celebrate everything we learned!"

Hunt for shapes and shares

Shapes are all around your home.

Look for sides, angles and faces.

Look for things split into equal parts too.

Try it: Number Hunt
Find a shape with 3 sides.
Find a quadrilateral.
Find a box shaped like a cube.
Find something with rows and columns, like a tile floor.
Find something split into halves or fourths.

Take a sheet of paper together.
Fold it into halves, thirds or fourths.
Check that every part is the same size.
Color one part. Name the share you colored.
Draw your favorite shape from the whole Number Trail.
For a grown-up
This week your child named shapes by their sides and angles.
They counted rows of squares and split shapes into equal shares.
This is the last week of Number Trail Grade 2.
Ask them to teach you one thing they learned.
