Lizzy the Lizard packs a ruler and her notebook in her bag.

"Today we hunt for lengths," she says.

Bennie the Bear grins. "Let us estimate first, then measure!"

"I want to find something about 1 foot long," says Lizzy.

"And something shorter than 1 inch!"

Then measure it together.
Whose estimate was closer? Take turns again.
Draw the longest thing you measured. Write its length.
For a grown-up
This week your child measured in inches, feet, centimeters and meters.
They estimated, measured to check and compared lengths.
Ask them to start at 0 each time.
Ask which unit fits a small or a big thing.
