Compression reduces the number of bits in data. Lossless compression lets you rebuild the original exactly; lossy compression keeps only an approximation but usually shrinks data more. Raw data must be cleaned before it becomes information, and a correlation does not prove a cause. A simulation is an abstraction built for a purpose: it uses chosen data and features, can use random numbers for real-world variability, and can carry bias from what was left in or out.
