Crew Quest: Power hunt

Saturday! Rocket hunts for things that need power.

"The lamp! The clock!" he says.

Raven asks, "What do you notice? Battery or plug?"

Nova beeps. "Hint: look, no touching."

  1. Every computer needs power.
  2. Batteries store power. Chargers fill them.
  3. Plugs and restarts are a grown-up job.
◇ POWER HUNT
Walk through your home with a grown-up.
Find three things with a battery inside.
Find three things that plug into the wall.
Point, do not touch.
Say which ones are computers.
Count the chargers you see.
Safety first
Never touch plugs, cords or outlets.
Never touch a battery.
A grown-up handles every charger.
For a grown-up
Ask: what did you notice?
Show one charging light from a safe distance.
Talk about why plugs are for grown-ups.
