Crew Quest: Output hunt

Saturday in the Fix-It Bay is quiet.

Rocket waves a printed star. "Output day!"

Raven packs a notebook. "What do you notice?"

Nova hums. "Hint: look, listen, find lights."

  1. Output means information coming out.
  2. Screen, speaker, printer and lights are output parts.
  3. In, then the computer follows instructions, then out.
  4. No sound? Check mute and volume first.
◇ FAMILY OUTPUT HUNT
Walk through your home with a grown-up.
Find a screen. Find a speaker.
Find a small light on a device.
Point to each one and name it.
Then draw a machine with one input and one output.
Tell your grown-up what goes in and out.
Safety first
Look only. Do not touch chargers or plugs.
Keep any sound gentle.
Ask before you pick up any device.
For a grown-up
Ask: what comes out of each part?
Ask: what went in to make that happen?
Any part that shows, sounds or lights up counts.
