Thursday: The tidy race

Samantha sets a timer. "Ten minutes. Ready?"

Bennie the Bear grabs the toy bin. "Ready!"

"Sort, put away, wipe, done!" they shout.

Four steps, ten minutes

The tidy race puts the week together.

A grown-up sets the timer for ten minutes.

Then you do the four steps in order.

Sort. Put away. Wipe. Done!

Beat the timer, or stop when it rings.

Sort things into piles.
Put each pile in its home.
Wipe the table with a damp cloth.
Say "done" and look around.

Racing does not mean running.

Fast feet trip. Quick hands win.

Team up! One sorts, one puts away.

Safety first

Walk, never run, during the race.
A grown-up sets the timer and wets the cloth.
Stop when the timer rings, even mid-step.
