Wednesday: Spoons and mixing

A big bowl sits on the counter. Lucy holds up two tiny spoons. "These are too small for a bear," she laughs.

Bennie grins. "Small jobs need small spoons. Big jobs need big bowls." He reads the snack mix card out loud.

"Two cups cereal. One cup pretzels. One half cup raisins. One tablespoon cinnamon." Lucy taps the bowl. "Then we stir slowly, or it all jumps out."

Measuring spoons

Measuring spoons measure small amounts. The two main ones are the tablespoon and the teaspoon.

The tablespoon is the big one. The teaspoon is the small one.

Three teaspoons fill one tablespoon. Fill a spoon over the top and level it, like a cup.
