Friday: Keep it going

Freddy the Frog hops onto a lily pad stage. "Welcome to the Friday review! Who remembers why we help?"

Rosie the Rabbit bounces in the front row. "Because a home runs on shared jobs! Hooray for helpers!"

Ferris the Fox holds up Bennie's chart. "Eleven checks this week. Not every box, and that is fine. A missed box is not a failure. It is a reminder for tomorrow." Rosie cheers. "Every check is a win!"

What we learned this week

  1. A home runs on shared jobs. When everyone helps, nobody carries it all.
  2. Noticing is the first step. Check the floor, surfaces and empties.
  3. Pick three right-size jobs: about ten minutes, safe, and helpful to others.
  4. A Helper chart shows jobs down the side and days across the top.
  5. Check a box after each job. A missed box is a reminder, not a failure.

What is the first step of helping?
How many jobs does a Home Helper start with?
What does a missed box on the chart mean?

When the chart slips

Every helper misses a day sometimes. You get sick. You have a long day. You forget.

What matters is what you do next. Do not toss the chart. Do not add a hundred jobs to catch up. Just do today's three jobs and check them off.

A helper who restarts is still a helper. The chart is a tool for you, not a judge.
