Thursday: Animals move seeds

Raven comes home from a walk.

Tiny seeds cling to her socks!

Rocket asks, "How did they get there?"

Nova says, "Look closely."

Seeds that stick

Some seeds have tiny hooks.

The hooks catch on an animal's fur or feathers.

The animal walks far away.

Later the seed falls off in a new place.

Seeds can stick to our clothes and shoes too!

Seeds that get eaten

Birds and other animals eat some fruits.

The seeds inside travel with the animal.

Later the seeds drop out in the animal's droppings.

Now the seeds are in a new place.
