Monday: Fruits hold seeds

Rocket sets an apple, a pear and a cucumber down.

Raven asks, "What do you notice inside each one?"

Nova says, "Remember last week's flowers."

From flower to fruit

Last week, pollen moved from flower to flower.

Then a part of the flower grew into a fruit.

A fruit holds the plant's seeds.

Apples, pears, melons and cucumbers all hold seeds.

Seeds need space

A plant cannot walk.

It cannot carry its seeds to new places.

So seeds have other ways to travel.

This week, you will find out how!
