Tuesday: Root comes first

Rocket shouts, "A white tail is poking out!"

Raven asks, "What do you notice about the tail?"

Nova says, "It is a plant part."

First, the seed takes in water.

The seed coat has a weak spot.

The tiny root pushes out through that spot.

The root is the first part to come out!

Some beans sprout sooner than others.

Maybe you see a root today.

Maybe you do not see one yet.
