Rocket wants to test light. "I'll put one bean in the window and one in the closet," he says.
Raven frowns. "What do you notice? One cup is big and one is tiny."
Nova hovers between the cups. "A fair test changes only one thing," she says. "What else must match?"
Rocket swaps in two cups that match. "Same cup, same soil, same water!"
Leaves are green because of chlorophyll.
Chlorophyll is a green pigment that captures light energy.
It is inside tiny parts of leaf cells called chloroplasts.
Photosynthesis happens in the chloroplasts.
Carbon dioxide gets into the leaf through the stomata.
Our question: does a bean plant grow better in bright light or in shade?
We change only one thing: the light.
Everything else stays the same.
