Rocket zooms around the yard. Then he flops down.

"I am out of zoom!" he groans.

Raven asks, "What do you notice?"

Nova hums. "What gives a body its zoom?"

Food gives you energy

Your body needs food every day.

Food gives your body energy.

Energy helps you run, jump, think and play.

Food also helps your body grow.

People need food to live. So do animals!

Many kinds of food

Eating many kinds of healthy food is a good plan.

Fruits and vegetables make a plate colorful.

They are packed with helpers called vitamins.

Bread, rice and oats are foods made from grains.

Beans, peas and eggs are foods too.
