Tuesday: Blood is a helper

Rocket makes a toy delivery truck. Vroom!

"What does blood deliver?" asks Raven.

Nova says, "Think about what your body needs."

Blood delivers

Blood is your body’s helper.

It carries oxygen, a part of the air.

It carries food your body needs.

Blood brings these to every part of you.

It also carries away waste your body does not need.

Blood roads

Blood moves through tubes called blood vessels.

Blood vessels go all through your body.

They are like roads for the blood.

Your heart pushes blood along these roads.

Blood reaches every part in less than one minute!
