Week 07 · Wednesday: Muscles and Moving (Body Lab K-2)

Wednesday: Muscles that work on their own

Rocket sits very still. "No muscles are working now!"

Raven giggles. "Are you sure?"

Nova says, "Listen inside. Something is still busy."

You choose when to kick or wave.

Your brain sends a message to those muscles.

Then they pull and you move.

Your face has lots of muscles too.

They help you smile and wiggle your nose.

Your tongue is a group of muscles!

Some muscles work without you thinking.

Your heart is a muscle!

It works all day and all night.

Muscles in your stomach work by themselves too.
